I feel

rather bad. I finished my job this Wednesday- it was my first legitimate job, with long hours and office work… I called myself a temp. My supervisor’s supervisor called me an intern (<—- I liked her- if she hadn’t been so busy all the time, maybe we would’ve exchanged more than a few hellos and goodbyes).

I dunno- looking back, the work was so long, and it was kind of boring (checking endless data lists, making copy after copy). But there were very nice, small, little things that made my day a little shorter. The people there were friendly- they always had something entertaining to tell me, especially the woman I shared a cubicle area with. Then there was this guy in the planning office, where I was eternally delivering packets to. He was one of those guys who takes up a lot of space, not necessarily because of his size, but more from personality. This man, who had very long hair and a huge, bushy mustache, the kind that makes you wonder what sort of guy he was when he was young, was relatively quiet when working. however, the moment he opened his mouth, his voice made everyone turn. He liked to talk about his granddaughter.

Also, in his office, he always had my favorite radio station on, so that whenever I came down to the office I could hear my favorite motown hits. I never told him how much I liked his radio station. After a visit to the office I would always return to my desk humming whatever song I’d heard. That radio station plays “Brandi” a lot, so that was on my mind for five weeks or so.

Overall, first job… success.
